Brazilian Business Environment

Brazil’s economy ranks fifth in the world with a GDP of more than $1.8 trillion.  The country presents significant export and partnership opportunities for U.S. businesses, but many challenges as well. The International Business Network and NEOTEC are sponsoring a seminar on the Brazilian business environment presented by Mr. Coaraci Nogueira do Vale, a renowned Brazilian attorney residing in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Mr. Stephen Petras, a partner with the Cleveland office of Baker & Hostetler.

Mr. Nogueira do Vale will provide an update on current aspects related to the Brazilian economy and the recent corruption investigations, as well as information on how U.S. businesses can protect their Intellectual Property, manage import taxes and trade barriers, and partner with Brazilian companies in several key industries.

Mr. Petras will discuss the implications of the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act as it relates to US firms doing business with companies in Brazil.
